What do you think of the bidding ...given the conditions

Scoring: IMP

You play the first match of the new competition season. You don't play with you regular partner. With your parnter of today you only played one evening before and you have spent a morning on BBO bidding practice. You can consider your partner of today to be of level BBO advanced. You are sitting South.
The bidding goes (opps silent):
1NT-2C
2S-3C
3NT-4S
All pass
You agreed to play splinter, so you did not bid 4C instead of 3C (although your partner would have taken it as a mixed cue bid).
...pitty enough your partner didn't see the bidding as limit for slam. Would you?
Maybe it would have been better to bid:
1NT-2C
2S-5S...
But then it would be sad to go down if partner is minimal.

Your auction invited slam (forcing 3♣ followed by pull to 4♠). North with maximum should not be passing,and this auction. And certainly this auction is a lot better than the mindless 1N-2c-2S-5S.

If this is the biggest problem your partnership is having, you guys will WIN alot.

Hard hand. Assuming you did invite slam (which would make sense else why not 4S over 2S), north might have moved. He probably hated his Jxx of clubs, and I do not blame him. Only xxx could be worse. the KQx of diamonds is also not great. On the other hand, hes max, and his Jxx may be ok opposite say KQxxx (or AKTxx lol). His KQx may provide heart pitches as they actually did. I'd say hes worth a move.
