hi all

1 heart opener

You get ur way to 4 hearts after a game forcing 2/1 and you want to continue, so you bid 4 spades, poss auction could go 1H 2C 4H, that not the auction I used but it is the 4 spade bid I want answers on please

Q1 can 4 spades be a void (not sure you would not already have shown this by splintering in 3 spades to start with)

Q2 can 4 spades be 1st or 2nd round control

Q3 does 4 spades have to guarentee 1st round control

Q1: Yes, you may prefered to show
your strong side suit
Responder may have only 3 card support
Q2: partnership agreement, I would still treat it as
a mixed cue bid, i.e. 1st / 2nd round control
Q3: see Q2

With kind regards
Marlowe
