Scoring: IMP

The bidding was:
1 - x - 2NT - 3NT - all
where
1 = standard with 4+
2NT = 0-6 HCP, (4)5+, could have (weak) major
(Don't comment the 3NT bid, that is not the reason of this topic)

The lead was A, I signalled 2 for clubs. Partner led J that was taken by Q, that quicly leads to one down (declarer lead small to A and club back, but there are low chances anymore).

If declarer would lead clubs himself, he (probably) leads small club to ace and club back and he fulfills the contract. Should he take the J with A?
So: Made he a mistake OR we are such a good defenders? :lol:

Declarer mistake IMHO. He should inquire about your carding agreements and visualize the club position. (As in "the club switch is NOT likely to be from KJ10x as declarer has spade points and diamond points AND is obeying a signal from his almost broke partner).

So, with this information, go up with ace and finesse west for club 10.

Defenders did a good job (looking at the table and basically asking partner whether he has a diamond honor or not :lol:)
