I expect them to make 4, but it might be close.
5 will normally cost me -500, which means I only gain 3 (or 4) IMPs vs 620 (or 650). Some will probably concede -790 or -990 too. But some part of the time they will go down where we're -300/-500 in 5. Basically I think I'll go slightly plus in the long run passing here.
Kind regards,
Harald

I think I'd pass. There's no reason to think we have pushed them into a game that is making.

If I'm bidding, it's 4N. For 5 to be right, we need to find two slow winners in pard's hand.

DBL.

3NT showed a gambling-style hand with spade stop. Now dbl should show some extras, which is what I have. Don't like to pass a difficult decision to a weak hand, but I'm not willing to sell out or take unilateral action here.

I love 4N, sometimes if they are good they dont even X because they don't have diamonds stopped.

Clear pass for me. Partner already know 95% of my hand. The only extra i have is the Q of H.

Bidding 3Nt with

a
xx
AKQJTxx (even 8th or 9th)
xxx

is in a way useless because you will rarely buy the hand. Solid D + S stop + some outside strenght is my definition for a 3nt bid. So therefore i have an easy pass.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

3NT, 4 and 5 were all 1 down.
