Very tough problem, I would just X even though that feels odd for me (whenever it could be a double game swing I usually bid). My bad trumps and relative shortness there really dissuade me from trying 5H though as my hand is actually defensive (though it doesn't look it).

***** - agree with you Josh, nasty opps here! (But that's what they're supposed to be...)

Can't stomach bidding here, and pass is out. So double it is. Afraid that's bad on this occasion, but so be it.
Kind regards,
Harald

I have less of a problem doubling than some other people, I guess. Yeah, they could make it, but if pass isn't an option, and you can't bid...

Agree with Roger, double WTP. :)
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Lol @ the votes until now.

yes, with 4 hearts it would be pretty obvious to bid on but this is not enough suitability for hearts for a 5h bid :)

It's a dirty job, but someone has to bid it, or this wouldn't be much of a poll :)

The opps sound as if they hold 10 or 11+ diamonds, which means that we should not lose control. We are red v white so partner should not be broke/bad-suit.

I am almost always a doubler here, but this hand is too prime to settle for 300.

I would double at any other vulnerability

The last option really isn't choice, anything can tilt Donn at any point of the day, and there is nothing you can do about it.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I just put it in so we could have a unanimous vote for a change.

Wtp 5H, X with a void and a fit when we are red and they are W is crazy imho.

5 is really ugly bid, but I think I'd do it.

Sorry, partner had Txx AQxxxx A JTx. I bid 5, not sure what is right in real life (probably double) but it was late night on bbo so I didn't really give it deep thought to be honest. It seems clear bidding could just be right or wrong, but I think doubling is percentage. Opening leader was 2281 with Kx of hearts and stiff queen of clubs. So club lead to K and A, club return ruffed, and merry guessing :( but there was no way declarer was getting that one right.

Not sure I might have voted for the wrong option - blame Dylan Moran I am trying to watch his DVD while reading the forums. This is not an ideal combination.

Anyway I am never doubling with three trumps and a void in their suit.

I don't like it but I bid 5. I like everything else less.
