Im a Precison player mostly. Some years ago i added to system 2C/D openings as 11-15 6+suit, or 5+suit and 4 other minor. So 1D had only 11-13 bal also any 4441 or any 4Maj/5min option. And it started to work very well that way, especially 2C/D openings that took a lot space from opps who usually after those openings have fit in at least 1 minor.1C/D in natural systeems more vulnerable than strong 1C coz they might have 12 bad bal or 18HCP 7+suit.Big diference. But to open with 5card MAJ 11-21 cant be bad.And i guess its better to show 5+MAJ 1st and then strenght versus str 1C when u show points before. So i put together kinind of system:
1C 15+ no 5+MAJ or FG any hand
1D 11-14 any 4441 or 4MAJ/5+min
1H/S 11-21 5+suit
1NT 12-14 bal
2C/D 10-14 6+suit/5+suit and 4+ other minor
2H/S as u wish
2NT 20-21 nat
After 1D opening coz opener always has 1 4+min, then responders 3C always weak PRE with 4+4+ minors. Also bidding is very simple here:
1D-1H: 1S 4144, 1NT=4s3h5+m, 2C/D 5+m/4s no 3H
1D-1S: 1NT 1S444, 2C/D 5+m/4H no 3s, 2H 3S4H 5+m
raises are natural, very simple,What do u think?

It is an improvement and I have been playing such for many years. :(

The 1 core is based on the book: The Diamond Major by Peter Oakley, 1998. Excludes balanced hands. Available on the web:

http://www.bridgeclu...ude/Diamond.htm

Also, The Millennium Club keeps 5M out of the strong 1 bid.

Web for similar system: http://www.geocities...3435/index.html

Ultra Relay: see Daniel's web page: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf
C3: Copious Canape Club is still my favorite system. (Ultra upgraded, PM for notes)

Santa Fe Precision published 8/19. TOP3 published 11/20. Magic experiment (Science Modernized) with Lenzo. 2020: Jan Eric Larsson's Cottontail . 2020. BFUN (Bridge For the UNbalanced) 2021: Weiss Simplified (Canape & Relay). 2022: Canary Modernized, 2023-4: KOK Canape.

One advantage of Diamond Major is that you can effectively open 1M to show either 11-15 or 16-19 HCP. A direct 1M opening shows the minimum hand and 1C followed by 1M shows the 16-19 HCP hand.

I used to play a similar system with Dr Culp of Dallas, Texas on OKBridge which he called dual no trump. It was kind of the inverse of Diamond Major.

1C promised a 4-card major and 1D was Stayman! 1H and 1S over 1C showed a 5+card suit. 1NT denied a 4-card major. Responder never bid a 4-card major.
1D and 1H were transfers to a 5+card major.
1S promised a 5+card minor suit and denied a 4-card major.
1NT was balanced and denied a 4-card major, like Match Point Precision. I forget the point range.

To save me, I can't remember why he called it dual no trump. I have misplaced my old notes. (computer crashes without adequate backup.) I have not seen Dr Culp on Internet bridge since 2003. If he shows up, I will play his system with him again. It was fun.
