I would expect that partner holds 5♠'s and a strong hand, probably with a wasted ♥ control.
Given that we have so little agreements I would bid 6♠ now, and I would expect that partner recognizes that if he holds the ♣A he should bid 7♠.
If partner had 5 spades, why wouldn't he bid spades instead of doubling hearts? I assume that X of hearts should be takeout in this auction, as it is most analogous to a 1
♣-(1
♥)-X auction as anything.
Anyway, I also assume that X would either be a weak NT hand, or a hand that is too strong to start with a natural call. When you double, cue-bid, then bid 3 diamonds, you've set up the latter hand. I would bid 3
♠ now, forcing, showing 3 of them. Partner should be able to make another call (if 3N, I'm bidding 4 clubs), and we'll get to the right spot if we both remember our fundamental principles.
