Scoring: IMP

(P) - P - (3) - 4
(P) - 6 - AP

You get the Q lead, plan the play.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

This would make a good BridgeMaster problem. I'd put it level 3. Incidentally, both declarers went down in 6D on this deal.

Actually, this hand feels ok. (I'm so doomed.)

We're missing 18 points. We know RHO has a weak hand with long hearts, likely 7 I guess. So RHO has a little something, strong likelihood of a heart singleton, yet he could not find a 2 or 3 opener NV.

Ergo, RHO has a decent chance of having at least 4 spades.

If RHO is 47??, then LHO has at least 4 clubs. Ergo, I'll just do my club/heart crossruff.

Do I cash a diamond first? No. LHO likely only had 1 heart, and may have the queen of trumps. If I lead a heart to dummy and the queen appears, I'll throw my spade. EDIT: That way if LHO has all 3 trumps, she can't lead a second round of trumps after ruffing with her queen, dooming the contract
Still decidedly intermediate - don't take my guesses as authoritative.

Roger, hackenbush, how about a hint? Does the CA, C-ruff line go down?

Cross-ruff lines will succeed, whether drawing 0 or 1 round of trump. RHO has Qx-x. Both declarers drew two rounds of trump, which is the trap to avoid on this hand. Then, any time you try to duck a trick, defenders have signalled enough to know to switch to spade to break up the double squeeze.

Obviously I was oblivious to squeeze possibilities.

Drawing a round of trump may have worked on the hand in question, but it's a weaker line in general, isn't it?
