I wonder if they'd already be grandfathered into NAFTA, or if they'd need to join up.

I wonder if they'd be granted non-visa visiting status to ROU. And, given the US's stand on "flying over, never mind through == visiting", how much hassle it would be on D+1 for Texans to get anywhere.

Probably so. I wonder if Texans born in the USA would have dual citizenship, or if their citizenship would be forfeit. Probably not important to most Texans, but I know a couple of them who would care.

It seems that US citizenship is important to a lot of Texans after all: Rasmussen Reports

Quote

Three-fourths (75%) of Lone Star State voters would opt to remain in the United States. Only 18% would vote to secede, and seven percent (7%) are not sure what they'd choose.

Perhaps Cuba will replace Texas as our 50th state?

I assume this means Hamman, (Justin L.) and all those others from Texas can no longer represent the USA now.

i doubt the laws adopted by the new republic of texas would overturn u.s. law, meaning that those born in texas when it was part of the union would still be american citizens...

Um, I can't imagine that it is the new Republic of Texas that would have the final word on U.S. Citizenship...

i didn't say it would, but u.s. law already states that anyone born in the country is a citizen.. if someone was born in tx while it was a state, that person is a u.s. citizen by definition... later secession wouldn't change that fact
