I am fairly new to the forums still, but i know Andy is a very decent player, i won't call his first DBL "Horrible" to be honest.

Anyone that thinks one of my calls is horrible is welcome to say so. And I should point out that forum postings are by far the best part of my game.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

first X is horrible by all standard. 4Nt at favorable is near automatic.

2nd board is normal result.

I think the second double is horrible and the first is ok, (just).

I doubt that. I suspect the only real issue is what type of partner you should seek out.
The choices are: a National champ with the same ideas as yours, who believes partner with two places to play at favorable should anticipate an "imperfect" double and just dummy up --vs. an (IMO) soon-to-be champ who thinks partner should believe that the T/O double is more likely to be different than this one.

That's funny. I'm ok with the first dbl but not with the second. If you're gonna dbl light or off-shape, you better have 4 in the unbid major(s), no?
