Newbie Q - aren't there hot keys? Hot to take back a card played in error; how to claim remaining tricks, etc.

Thanks, Mike

BBO doesn't have too many hot keys. The old Windows app has a few (like Ctl-w to toggle wide screen), as well as the ability to make bids and plays from the keyboard. The new browser version doesn't even have these.

And I'm not sure how your question is specific to playing against robots.

The request for a claim button is robot-play specific, since there is a claim button at other times.

I didn't think he was asking for the Claim button to be enabled with robots. "Hot-key" refers to keyboard equivalents of menus or buttons.

Claim is allowed when playing against robots in the main bridge club, but not in tourneys. Undo is not allowed with robots at all.

Yes, I was wondering where it was - the claim button - or macros... just surprised that they are not there. Perhaps the undo doesnt make sense with the robots, but the claim would, I'd guess.

Thanks for your input.

It's difficult to program the bots to decide whether to accept the claim or not. How do you tell it what your line of play is?

It could do a double dummy analysis, and accept the claim if there's any line of play that succeeds. But suppose you have a two-way finesse -- the bots will accept the claim because one of the finesses works.

I think it's allowed in the MBC only in certain situations, like when trumps are drawn and all you have are trumps.

Aren't claims allowed in Express tournaments when one of the defenders is a robot? Are they allowed there by declarer if both defenders are robots? How about by a defender if declarer is a robot?

I played in my first express tourney in a while tonight, and it let me claim when LHO was a human and RHO was a bot. I don't know what happens if both opps are bots.
