Selective filtering of online players

I've just started logging in, watching games, and perusing the help pages. I couldn't find anything like the following:

I suggest some way of filtering all the players that are online currently.......
This way I can search for players I know.... (but don't know their screen names and/or haven't set them to "friend")
(the only ones I can currently search are friends, hosts, stars, and those kibitzing the table I'm at......

possible categories / filters (and be able to activate more than 1 filter at a time):
all playing
all kibitzing
all online
by country
by skill level
by master points
by gender
by interest in setting up team games
etc

all of this is public info in the profile / table listings...

gender? really? how about searching by sexual preference?
