1. Partner can't bid 1♥ over 1♦, so I lead a small club.

2. A 3rd or 4th heart depending on agreement, because I see no reason not too.

1{ Yup, a club.

2) I lead the king...it's not unlikely that the opps have a stiff heart, and trick 2 will be my only chance to put a lead through dummy for partner after that. So I lead the K to retain the lead.

1) ♥8. All I need from partner is ♥KJ10xx. No overcall might simply mean insufficient strength. 3=5=2=3 with 4 HCP is not an overcall, yet could set this puppy. I will venture a ♥ because neither opponent showed 4 when they had the chance. With luck, the ♥Qxx will be to my left. ♣ could easily be 3=4=3 around the table...
2) ♥ King - to take a peek. To much to guess at trick 2...

On hand one I will lead the 8 of Hearts. The C lead may well be better.
On hand 2 I think the HK is a stand out.

fwiw I dont think a club is really easy but please understand that is why we..I ...come to the forums...

You need 5 tricks to beat their game. It is not unlikely that they have their 9 tricks very quick, your diamond holding is bad.
You will not get enough tricks in spades or diamond, so the race what to lead is between hearts and clubs.

In hearts you need more from partner.Even if he has KJTxx and the queen is well placed in dummy, he still needs another high card to enjoy this tricks. And with say AKJTx in hearts, he "surely" hand bid over 1 ♦.
In clubs he needs less high cards to make the lead successful. If he holds KJTxx in clubs, this could be enough. If he holds QJxxx and a high diamond, this will often still be enough- and it had been more difficult for him to introduce a clubs suit then a heart suit-simply because he had needed to do it a level higher.
