Im thinking that in a Lawrence 2/1 framework

1S-2C(natural)-2red-3S can be played as a limit raise showing a real club suit. The picture jump to 3S in regular 2/1 is pretty rare and often 2S work better anyway. Showing where the real suit for the limit raise is nice. Getting opener to make a 2nd bid is also nice too.

1- 1S--2D--2S--3S become non-forcing (biggest drawback imo)

2-if opener make a high reverse and you return to 3M your range is now wider.

3- if opener bid 2nt (no extras but stoppers in the unbid suit) you are forced to game. (but if you have a real club suit you are sure to have xx in front of you making game more likely)
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

2 minor not game force by responder is the question....

truly great players such as Mike can play anything....

prefer KISS 2/1 100% gf....and live with the prbls it presents

btw this raises the whole other issue of rebid of 2M shows 5 and minimum or 6+

different opinions makes bridge fun and interesting.
