I have written this before but we could eliminate all of this by simply making the bid fixed once the bidding card is intentionally placed on the table. This would encourage players to check the card for a fraction of a second after pulling it while not penalising accidental drops, sticky cards, etc. There is simply no reason for allowing corrections of IBs with bidding cards and certainly no reason for forcing TDs to try and guess what was in a player's mind (encouraging dishonesty in the process).
