First off, I would like to say it's nice that everyone can change their system and decide to cuebid either 1st or 2nd round controls and partner will know we changed it mid-auction.

Avoid the rush. Change your agreements before you play again.

Good news that partner lacks a diamond control. 4n for me
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Sorry, your cue bidding style is old fashioned - first round controls first. Besides, if you bid 4, what is partner supposed to do with 2 small hearts?

Good question. You opened the bidding 1 and jumped in spades. Presumably if partner is still interested in slam, he has great spades so he would know you don't have great spades, if not, you are probably in trouble with weak spades. Nothing in spades, so you rate to have a control in hearts. So, either more cue bidding, Blackwood or 4 depending on the hand. I don't guarantee success, sometimes you end up with an ATB hand not matter which way you go :)
