Would you do something here? Don't say you would have opened :) Assume this is your partnership style to pass this hand.

Yup 1N for the minors and remember to agree to change the partnership style for the next hand :P (three tens no less!)

Eh, we did agree afterwards that it's OK to open with an opening hand. I wasn't sure at the table, so decided to go JEC style :)

There is a case for not reopening when short in the unbid major. If it is our board, opps seem to have a great heart fit. For that reason, I don't think 1NT should show the minors. 1NT shouldn't be natural by a passed hand, either, IMO but it probably is if undiscussed.

Difficult to be unbiased but I think in practice I would have bid 1NT with this hand. It is a sound opener IMO but that's a different issue.

So at the table I bid 1NT but I meant it as natural, not minors, and pd took it that way too. I am surprised to find out that 1NT in that position would be for minors. Other table opened my hand and they played in their minor fit while we went down in NT for -8IMPs.
