1. ♠4 asking for a minor switch.
2. ♣7, I hope declarer has:
QJ974
A2
J5
AJ93
or worse ♣
playing the K enables declarer to discard a ♦ on the ♣jack.
now declarer has to guess how to play the 2nd ♣ round.
3. yes, maybe not work out all ♣ combinations, but putting in the king cannot be right, you need the king to smother the queen.

After 1S-4S and 5 spades in dummy I would
expect my pd to reason I might have single
trump and not put any emphasis on either the
4 or the 10.
Suit pref on a trump ace lead sounds a bit
off to me,with single 10 he would shift H and
that might very well give declarer extra trick(s).
However if my pd shift to club,I would lay the K
because declarer will probably have at least A8x
avoiding club losers anyway if I lay the 7,and I
would expect pd to play the J from J10x and there
is also a chance of pd having the ace,and declarer
will only need to ruff one club to play the J good if he
holds AJTx

I should probably add that I didn't qualify for
Cavendish this year(or ever)
