Thanks for running Diana enjoyed as always :)

Must say sorry to Wacko I made a real bad error on board 16 - sorry dude.

I will also repeat what I said on the last table, imo psyching in indys is utterly pointless, especially when firstly its so frequent and second, it's just a bit of fun between BBFers.

I know you "don't give a rat's ass about my opinion"

but we had a 4Hxx + 3 this week and a 7CX - 6 or something last week directly caused by psyches and i'm sure there have been many more and imo it spoils the fun a little

"definitely that's what I like to play when I'm playing standard - I want to be able to bid diamonds because bidding good suits is important in bridge" - Meckstroth's opinion on weak 2 diamond

Psyching is part of the fun imo. I haven't psyched in a long time but there's nothing wrong with mixing it up sometimes. The point of these indies is supposed to be that we're friends (kind of) and there's no better place for a few psyches than a non-serious game with friends.

I dunno - maybe psychs are more okay because it's just a bit of fun between BBFers. BTW, surely they should've run to 5 doubled for -1700. On board 20, I certainly thought about making what would've been a pretty bad (but not the worst I've seen) 4th seat opening just for the heck of it.

Same hand as the psych: I wonder if 6 after RKCB for spades should be asking for third round heart control for grand rather than suggesting an alternative place to play.

The psyche kept opponents from finding their slam. If psycher's partner can just sit in his seat, it's a big gain instead of an enormous loss.

Indys are the ideal place for psyching because there is no risk of having (or be accused of having) a CPU.

That said I think that psyches are silly, except in situations where you are captain so it doesn't matter what p makes of your psychcological bid.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I probably should have considered that. His 6 must have been some kind of try for grand, and my hand could hardly be any better for my earlier bidding (I was this close to bidding 4).

I should have bid 5NT over which we would have been in a guess again (cheapest king or number of kings?). I wasn't sure how 6H would be interpreted but I knew I would be OK with either interpretation :)
