Consider the uncontested auction:

1S 1NT(forcing)
2NT 3D

I fially decided to give the bots a try and I have been surpised by how much I like it. And I find surprises, such as the above sequence. Usually I do not have to look at the bot's explanations, but for this one I did. The 3D was a transfer to hearts. It makes sense, I guess, but I had never thought of it. I wonder what a 3H call, instead of the 3D trf, would have been. And would 3C be a transfer to diamonds? I realize the bots will tell me what they mean, but I look forward to not having to look.

I did not see this addressed in the summary of the bot system.

kenberg how did you get the hyperlink? better than multiple copy-and-paste into the hv= structure.

thanks

Thhis particular hand was from the all day tournament. The day after you play the 8 boards, a BBO message arrives with the hands and the results. You click on Show Boards and a list of the hands come up, you click on a hand and you see it. In your browser (Chrome for me but I assume any browser) you have a long address. You can simply copy and paste this which is what I did, or you can use the link icon to name the link.

I tried yet another approach. there is a box on the right bottom which shows the hand. In chrome browser. Click on options bottom left of the box and get an "Export" option.

Right.

There are timing issues.

When playing the tourney and after the tourney but before closing down, you can export the hand. T a folder in My Hands, for example, or to other places. Also, the next day the hands appear in Recent hands and these options are there. As near as I can see, Recent Hands saves the 50 most recent hands and then discards hands as new noes come in so those can disappear.

So smoe promptness might be required. I try to remember to save any hands that I want using options before the option disappears. But if I have closed the tourney and if the hand I have in mind is more than 50 hands back then I think this option is gone.

The message from BBO abut the tourney stays up for, I think, seven days. Using that you can see the hands and you can save them by copying the url, but the option box no longer provides a save hand option.

So it seems anyway.

I have been trying, when I remember, to save some hands both to look at my own errors and to get a fuller appreciation of just what bot standard really is. Imo it would not be crazy to play bot standard with a short term random pickup on BBO. But the notes on the bot system, while decent, are incomplete.
