It seems that North hasn't counted his cards

Initial thoughts: this looks pretty hopeless, it has to be said. Even if we can completely crossruff we still only have 8 tricks. I guess we need to set up clubs then.

That 3S bid is rather odd. Presumably East had a way to show hands with spades and varying strengths over 2D? If we're optimistic the shapes are 2344/2353 vs 6331/6322, but I can imagine it's the case (particularly if EW play strong NT) that they're somewhat more wild than that and East has 7 spades in a weakish hand while West has QJ10x (and hence no spade lead). Bad breaks in both hearts and clubs cause us a lot of problems...

Is it matchpoints or IMPs? Can we infer anything from the lack of a double?

Will keep thinking.

It's IMPs; make 10.

I'd wint the A, cross to dummy with A and play a towards hand intending to finesse if W does not cover. If he covers i will cash A and give up a club. If club finesse loses to E, I will hope W started with Hx .
Basically I am shooting for 1+2 losers if hearts are no worse than 4-2 and opener has both club honors or Hx in club. Given the auction, this looks to have pretty decent odds to me but I may be wrong.

This is best. Youll run out of trumps if you try to ruff clubs.

Whats curious to me is that it doesnt matter much if trump are 33 or 42.

Unfortunately LHO has Hxx of clubs so you are DOA.
