I don't mind Michaels on the first auction, but I'm bidding clubs again even if partner supports hearts.

More likely it can go

(1♠) - 2♠ - (4♠) - Pass
(Pass) - ?

Now I can bid 5♣ to show a marked preference for clubs.

This is the whole board, I opened 1♠ other table they opened 2♣.



If you don't go past 2N the whole thing runs on rails after a 1♠ start and our 2N (good raise to 3+ 4+♠)

At the other table they only got to 6 after 2♣-(3♣)-

I suspect the 2 suiter just bids diamonds and they end up bidding 7 of those

I wonder what the difference is between responder bidding 5N immediately after 2C (5C) and doing so after initially passing over 5C? Is one stronger than the other?
