1. No.
2. No.

1. The suit quality is rotten, and I have one heart less than I should have. It's definitely not my style to open a weak 2 with that.

2. Double is for take-out, so why wouldn't I take it out?

Wrong question. Would your partner think you open this a weak 2? At this vuln. there is no such thing as minimum strength, just be on the same wavelength with pd.

2nd question: Firm believer in taking out partner's take out double. I'm not sitting for this one.

I wouldn't. I'm an aggressive bidder - but not that aggressive. Make that T the T and I would at that vulnerability.

No. IMO, this is more of a matchpoint tactic, trying to steal a board where the result is either a top or a bottom. At IMPs the risk verses gain is out of whack.

Yes. Having made this bid, I assume partner knows what kind of hand I may hold so I have to live with the consequences and hope we've kept them from slam.

NO! whats the point.
I want partner to be able to make an intelligent deciscion with points if and if they dont come into the auction.

If I was playing EHAA yes, i would open two

if not playing lebensol i would bid 2NT

1) No, terrible 5 card suit, well if you dare to call this suit
2) West should Pass, afterall he can assume a 8 card fit
North should bid 2 NT, lebensohl, intending to bid 3S,
to show invitational vaules

Personnaly I would bid 2NT with the South hand.

With kind regards

This depends on pship styles.
Some like to preempt with bad suits because they can increase the frequency of the bid.
Personaly I would not try this vs an unpassed pard

No.
To try to make this clearer:
most times doubles with a good opener.
A good opener promises about 2.5 defensive tricks.

Here , especially sitting under the preemptor, we have no reason to expect to provide more than 2/3 tricks.
Sure, we may expect to set the contract by 1 trick, but it will be very close, and doubling them into game is not a good strategy.

As I have spades support, I'll bid my spades

I wouldn't bid 2H on J fifth no matter what. All the favorable vulnerability and state of the match considerations cannot change the fact that its J fifth.

I would not pass the X as the heart spots are too weak. QT9x is much more suited for a pass (but I still wouldn't). Would bid a pedestrian 2S.

1 ) No, never in first or second seat. In 3rd seat everything is allowed.

2 ) 2, pd is asking me to Take Out, so I will do so. But I will not count my Q for now.

Some 10 years ago, while forming a new (and to become my all time best partnership) I raised my partner's favourable vulnerability 1st seat 2 bid to 3 on 10x. After a tortuous auction the opps rested in 4 and partner led his 5th best ... the 2. Dummy's were AKQxx and declarer followed.

After that, we agreed that we would adopt a slightly more rational weak two style.

So I have to say that I would NOT open 2.

And I would definitely NOT pass the double as North, even if I knew that the opps style permitted this kind of weak 2.
