Hi,

I am not good in it, but the best line
for getting 3 tricks seems to be low
to the 8.
If the 10 or the Jack appears cover it,
if not lead low to the 9.

Following the rule, if you dont want
an honor to be covered, dont lead the
honor.

Regarding getting 4 tricks:
I am not sure, if there is a possible
layout, and unless the defence makes
a mistake, getting 4 tricks is rather
hopeless.

With kind regards
Marlowe

4 tricks: seems like I'll have to play LHO for Kx or Kxx. Ace and low to the queen.

3 tricks: low from both hands at trick 1. Then low to the queen.

This is probably wrong, but that's what I'd try at table. :D

I came to the same conclusion as Justin, and I'm glad he mentioned the intra-finesse (not because it the best play but because it is so much fun).

When my partner had these at the table yesterday she went down because of a 5-0 split. Hard to guard against that!

40.7% for 4 tricks, A and then small to the Q.
90.4% for 3 tricks, small to the 9, followed by small to the Q if all played small.

Basically correct, but....

for 4 tricks: when you play the Ace and if righty drops the T or J, you should continue with a small to the 9 next. This caters for K-T or K-J tight on your right.
