Scoring: MP

pass- 1 - pass- 1
2 - 2 - pass - ?
(1 could be 4 acol style)

Local pairs. We bid 4 card suits up the line so 1 can be 4. 2 can be 3 or 4 spades but partner does not like to bid 2 without 4. 3 now would be help suit game try.
Is slam likely? How do I find out?

Slam is certainly possible, I'd bid 4D (splinter) and if partner bids 4H then I bid 5D (showing first round control in diamonds). I will respect any sign off by partner.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Yes I would have bid 4 if it was either splinter or cuebid, but none of these were agreed so not available.

I'd start with 3C.
