Hi all,
I have MIE 6.0 SP1, and I can see all symbols in posts to the Forum except the diamond, which appears as a rectangle with orange sides and clear middle. I can see it fine in this little post-writing menu (which inserts a ). Just not in posts themselves.

For any help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Dan

The problem you describe is exactly the one I had when these symbols were first set up. It was soon fixed for my computer by Gerardo. He replied in total...

(from earlier post by Gerardo) Found the diamond thing is browser dependent:

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Arial

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Times

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Courier

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Impact

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Geneva

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Lucida

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Optima

♣♦♥♠ ♧◊♡♤ ♣♦♥♠ ♧◇♡♤ Verdana

IE has problems with the Diamond Suit Symbol (it doesn't show well in the first two sets), while Mozilla shows the Diamond Symbol too big. For now, I left the Diamond Symbol, so it will show better in IE.

Should I add buttons for the outlined symbols?

The ONEHAND issue was fixed, but not all options work. I found FONT does work in IE, but not color (works above the hand, not after, not inside). Size doesn't work, change spacing but not actual size.

Surely related to the fact ONEHAND defines a table, and some attributes has to be defined inside it to work.

In response to this, he changed the font used to show diamond symbol. If you are not seeing it correctly, I suspect you are missing the right font, and windows is subsitituting one of the fonts above on your system that shows it as a square. I know after I raised this issue, whatever he did to display it differently fixed my problem on my computer... I suspect you need to change which font is assigned to the one he uses or download the appropriate TTF.

Dan, how do you see the post Ben quoted? (Look for it, I think it is in the New Forum Software thread) (this one won't work, it seems quoting sets font).

Hi,
Each line appears the same way.

square squaresquaresquare square squaresquaresquaresquare

The shapes appear fine: the shapes are filled in except for the diamond which is clear in the middle.

Thanks,
Dan
