If I had not redoubled earlier, double now would be mandatory. But I've shown my strength, and within that context I have a lousy defensive hand against 2NT or anything else. I'll let partner decide whether to play or defend, and if he chooses to allow them to escape undoubled, we might not be beating them anyway.

I don't care much for the redouble on a hand with one King and no Aces.

If I double, what do I lead? On high card points there is certainly room for rho to have AKQxxx of clubs, the king of diamonds and the ace of spades. Taking six tricks off the top might be impossible. Would he bid this way? Dunno.

I am taking the option you didn't list and bidding 3D. My thinking is that if rho is a nut I'll be getting plenty of goodies on other hands where I am more certain of the situation. If he has a club surprise for me, as I think he does, 3D may be the best choice.

For some reason, doesn't seem you ever run into these auctions in a real game; I wouldn't waste any time worrying about the right action.

agree 100%. I've done all I can do. It's up to P. I wouldn't be too surprised to see RHO turn up with running ♣, and some stoppers. So, even if P does double, the auction may not be over. RHO could run to 3♣, and then I'll have to decide whether to bid 3♦, or try to go plus by beating opps.

It certainly seems impossible, doesn't it? E/W are vulnerable, so even down 1 doubled would be bad for them, and he has to know his partner is completely busted.

After the XX of 1NT, I expect that partner will take my pass of 2NT as forcing but showing doubt about strain ie., I have some diamond support.
