How do you play the meanings of advancer bids after opps' weak 2 opening and 2NT overcall by partner?

i.e. (2)-2NT-(p)-?
3 - stayman?
3 - ?
3 - transfer?
3 -?
4 - gerber? :lol:
4 ?
4 - texas?
4 -??

Thanks,
Burak

System on, the transfer to opponent's major shows an invitational hand in the other major: Here 3 is invitational with 5+.

4 is never Gerber. It's bad enough to play it in an uncontested auction, in a contested auction it's even more terrible.

Agree, I even like this at all levels!

System on, with transfer to opener's suit a 3-suiter with singleton or void in their suit.

For serious partnerships that want something better...

3C->3D (see below)
3D=Invitational or better with 5+ of the other major
Cuebid=Stayman
3 of other major=Both minors

After 3C->3D:

Pass=signoff
3 of other major=signoff
Cuebid=GF with long diamonds
3NT=GF with long clubs (not forcing)
4C=GF with long clubs (forcing)

There is more to it than that, but if you can deal with the above then you can probably work out something sensible for followups sequences and (if you want) for sequences not defined above.

When it is a Major they have bid,

3C= Transfer to OM which allows superaccepts below forcing to a higher level
3D= Stayman for OM
3H= transfer to C (note the availability of super accepts low again under 3NT with 2 available to suggest the top Honour and the suit will run anyway)
3S= transfer to D (see above)
4m= minimum GF on presumed fit 55 in minor & OM

I accept that this loses on certain auctions with D which could otherwise play in 3D but it allows much greater fine tuning for invitational/pushy auctions to both game and slam in virtually all other scenarios

regards
