Matchpoints, nobody vul. On a trump lead 5H was down 3 undoubled with 10 tricks available in spades.

No real blame, reverse the NS heart honours and it's possible this contract will make when you weren't making 4♠. There is also no law against N having a 5th heart as well in which case this may well play quite nicely.

East's pass was automatic, and west's pass was right in my opinion, but that's more debatable.

West should x in my opinion. After all his pd overcalled and he has a decent hand .
