A Kxx - - x x AT - - Q J8x -
RHO is in 3♦ and has to make 2 more tricks for his contract.
I played this hand good (sorry to say this myself ) playing other suits in correct sequence to get here. (LHO does not have high cards anymore - except for ♥J - and no trumps).
Partner played ♠A and I ruffed that and returned ♥Q. But my partner failed to overtake it.
How is this play called when declarer ruffs an own winner to shorten his trumps and does this have the same name in defense?
Can I now go out and tell everybody that I have made this play or does it not count if my partner didn't overtake the ♥Q?
