I might have mentioned this before, but I was recently reminded of a funny. My wife's grandmother was at our house watching a football game on TV. We use our DVR to pause the broadcast periodically if we want to grab a cigarette. So, we hit pause and went to have a smoke. Leah's grandmother started to worry about missing part of the game, when Leah noted that hitting pause to have a cigarette means that the game stops until we get back, and so therefore we do not miss anything.
Confused, her grandmother asked, "How do they know that you want to have a cigarette?"
Apparently, it seems that the pause button sends a message to the stadium letting them know that the Rexfords are having a cigarette and to wait a bit. When we get back from our cigarette, we hit the play button, which sends a message to the stadium, and play resumes.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

so it is all your fault that the games run too long sometimes, I wondered why there were so many commercial breaks.
btw if you can cut all the breaks/stopage out of a game it is over in about 11-12 minutes total.

The other day, I got a real nasty letter from one of the players who was really ticked about me making him run backwards every time he catches the ball real near the sideline.

Haven't the play-by-play announcers been making him do that for years?
This all reminds me of the scene in "City Slickers", when Daniel Stern can't understand how the VCR can record one program while you're watching another.
