Bid this slam, assuming you start with 3♠ from South - opps are silent throughout. If you disagree with the opening bid feel free to say why. I'm interested in what methods people use after 3M for slam exploration.

4NT? You risk the 5 level being too high when p has ♠KQ98765 and the opps lead K♣ for example. Do people commonly use 4♣ as keycard here perhaps?

Good point, I guess I'm bidding double dummy there.
If partner had used namyats this would have been easy, assuming you have a way of showing a solid trump suit below game.

If partner opens 3S, I bid 4S. And put down the dummy, saying glp.

I open 1♠ or 4♠ for this reason, vulnerable probably 1.
If you open very conservative preempts, I'd consider 4N, but we treat first seat as one where we're aggressive.
Broze's comment is slightly OTT in that it's much more likely that you have 3 hearts and one club than the reverse, and also 7312 is OK if the diamonds behave reasonably.

I go RKC, but I use 4♣ as the ask. I know JLall did this with Joe Grue, that 4♣ over any of their pre-empts at the 2 or 3 level was RKC (except 4♦ is RKC over 3♣). I use a modified version (I don't know if they do), where the responses are: 4♦ = 0 / 4♥ = 1, no Queen / 4♠ = 1 with Queen / 4NT = 2, no Queen / 5♣ = 2 with Queen.
So, my auction would go 3♠ - 4♣; 5♣ - 6♠.

Hi,
assuming we play classic preempt style, 3S showes 7 tricks, -2 being red.
Most would open 4S, but as long as both agree, 3S is ok.
You have 4 sure tricks, potential for a 5th, Key Card Asking should do the
trick, thr 5 level being safe.
Some play a modified RKCB version after 3 level preempts, usually 4C being
the bid, we still use 4NT.

If play Roth Ask bid,it must be very easy to resolve this sort of problems.After partner's 3♠ preemptive opening,4♣ is a slam try.Opener's rebids are :
1-4♦ shows poor suit with poor hand.
2-4♥ shows a good suit with 2/3 top card.
3-4♠ shows a broken suit with good hand.
4-4nt shows solid suit.
3♠——4♣
4nt——6♠
1-4♦ shows poor suit with poor hand.
2-4♥ shows a good suit with 2/3 top card.
