Jacoby 2NT used to be a balanced hand as it is explained.
Has it been changed or is this a bug ?

While I am not one of the people in charge of GIB, I don't know why Jacoby 2NT should be limited to a balanced hand. Yes, I know that the explanation of the 2NT bid says balanced, but I never took that literally, as it makes little sense.

I find your jump to 6 to be eccentric, to say the least. On the one hand, you could be off 2 cashing diamond tricks, even if North had the balanced game forcing spade raise that you expected (for example, Qxxx AKQ QTx Kxx). On the other hand, you could be cold for 7NT opposite xxxx AKx Axx Kxx and a number of variations on that theme. In this case, you were cold for 7 for an entirely different reason.

Yes, I knew we might make 7 or fail in 6.
I just bid 6 to make it more difficult for GIB to cash the diamonds if we are missing AK of

No, it really never was. See this thread from 2011:

Agree with art it shows fit, waiting to find out what opener has
Isnt 3nt the balanced hand bid giving choice of contracts?

3NT is explained as 13-15 hcp, 3 spades and 3343, any 4 card suit.

Yes, sounds like a choice between 3NT and major suit contract

At the moment GIB would do this with either balanced GF+ or quite stronger 4+fit hand.

These are hands over splinter range as at the moment splinter is limited hand for GIB 13-16TP.

Emphasizing 4+ suit and 9+ trumps.

If you had give a chance on the sequence by bidding 3 shortness, GIB would continue with 3 showing the stronger hand 16+ and cuebidding might help.

Can't you just remove the word "balanced"? Actually, since the explanation says "4+", you can also remove the word "support".
