A pretty awkward hand from the club tonight. Do you agree with the pass of 2C? What do you bid now?

For me, the first pass shows better than minimum values and a wish to co-operate if partner wants to X for pens. I would now double which would suggest basically a flat 15 which is close to what I have.

Agree with the initial pass, I would have been trilled if partner could double 2♣. Now I bid 3♦ hoping to reach the best possible game. If I had 3♣s I would X.

I think I X 2443 or 3442 so am not worried about the doubleton, I'm worried that I'm suggesting a 5-5/3541 13 with 3♦, rather than a semi balanced 15.

I agree with the initial pass over the xx. As partner did not x 2C, he must have the pointed suits. I bid 3D now. A double by me now would be for penalties.
