Agreed.
I find the ads a nightmare. It seems like you have to see the ad thro' before the X appears allowing you to click it closed.
That they appear to be mostly gambling ads makes it all the worse.

Ads are hidden for a week every time you spend money on the site. Some games are only 20 cents - that keeps you ad free for a week.
For a permanent solution, you can subscribe to Prime, which is $6 per month and includes additional benefits such as free advanced robots in the Prime Club.
Also, ads on web are less aggressive than on the mobile apps. So if you dont want to spend at all, but not be bothered by ads too much, you can play in your browser, instead of the app.
