Several advantages were listed in the article. You may not think they are worth whatever benefit you gain from supersound openings (after all, R/S were certainly very successful). But you cannot, after having read the article, say that you are not aware of the upsides.
Of course the "X" points to take "Y" tricks is not deterministic. We have all been on both sides of a double-partscore, -game and -slam swing.
