The interviewer, Richard Munchkin, seems more cynical (realistic) than Bridge legislators.
Richard pointed out that, even 30 years ago, some BlackJack players co-operated by wearing special radio-shoes with a button in the toe and a buzzer in the heel.
He speculated (correctly IMO) that, nowadays, electronic cheating must be commonplace in Bridge.

The folks administering the game really had their heads in the sand regarding various ways to cheat, which probably explains why the tournament record for almost every major event of the last 15+ years is now tainted.

The podcast never even touches on the fact that it was trivially possible to crack the ACBL's own hand generators.
Given the amount of money involved, I'd be quite surprised if someone hadn't beat me to the punch...

ACBL seems very intent on cracking down on accidental use of cell phones. Yet if someone is cheating electronically it is almost certain they aren't using cell phones.

Isn't that kind of a tautology? If the organization takes measures to prevent cheating by method X, cheaters generally won't use method X.
