ya, disagree with 1H, 3C criss cross, game force in D. Very often unbalanced hand.

Yes I would certainly bid 1H; how else can you find a H fit if it exists?
I bid 5D now. Hands such as these are always difficult and I think 5D is the most practical bid. No Mike, definitely NOT 2C gf. Why? If the opponents happen to get into a high level C contract and partner doubles, he won't expect me to hold this hand. If you pull the double and its wrong you will cop the blame!

3D. I might bid 2D (inverted minor) at the first turn. 1H is second choice.

Ya, 3c, unbalanced game force D, always going to 5D, but planning on sitting 6cX depending on bidding. I am not bidding 1H but 3c so I am unsure what bidding you object too.

How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

2♣ since the contract probably belongs in 3NT. You can always bid ♦s later, but imo there's a huge chance of making game.

Curious. No matter what hand pard has, if he passes a 1NT rebid by you, then he has a 12 count with 4S 1H 4D and 4C. Once you get in (hopefully before they cash 7 tricks) you will make your contract. If he takes another bid (likely) then you can show the nature of your hand with a big move showing D in a limited hand with 4 H cards.

Is this a real bridge hand? Why haven't the opponents bid? They have a minimum of eight cards in each black suit and a fair share of the high cards. I'm bidding 5♦, then excusing myself to go to the powder room.

5D. Even at matchpoints, I don't want to play 3NT with this hand (though it could be right), and slam is unlikely.
