My rebid is 2♥. I do not like it, and think on this hand 1♥ might well be better - but I've seen partners pass the 1♥ with 7-counts, insisting the bid is limited to about a bad 18, and I can't risk it without a more detailed discussion.

1C, followed by 2H.
This should show 54, forcing to game, ob. we will quite likely loose a possible 44 in spades, but that is life.
With kind regards

Now
2♦ - 3♣ 5+♣ denies 4♦ or 44s4

But having opened 1♣, my rebid after 1♦ is 2♥ and I like it more than I would if playing natural, although it does not cover all angles here.
Partner alerts it as being either the natural reverse or one of several strong hands with clubs: now can he force to game with 8+ HCP or equivalent?

I would either bid 1♣-1♦-1♥ or if I felt like forcing to game 1♣-1♦-2N(GF unbal)-3♣(semi forced)-3♥(5+♣/4♥/<3♦) playing what I play, 1♥ is "forcing if you had a response".

Yeti, how do you do with your 18 hcp balanced openings? Apologies if I've asked this before.

Rebid a 15-bad 19 1N (playing a 12-14 1N opener)
btw if partner has a LOT of diamonds (7+), the auction will go slightly differently

Partner may struggle to believe a 2♣ opening

Nowhere close to the best hand I've had opposite a strong 2♣
4♠ was solid suit, they didn't find the spade lead which would have required me to pitch the A♥ to make
We would bid either:
1♣-1♦
1♥-1♠
3♠(huge 4405)-4♣ and on to 7♣
Our agreement is that over the 4 1-suits, we bid 1N with a minimum with 4 card support for spades, 2♠ shows extras, so 3♠ is enormous
Or:
1♣-1♦
2N (GF unbal)-3♣(semi forced)
3♥-4♣(better than most of the other available bids) now again you're going to reach 7♣.
A 2♣-3♦ start really cramps the auction, and we probably reach 7N which is likely to have good chances

1C - 1D
2H - 2S(positive)
2N(nat reverse) - 4C(fix,SI)
4D - 4H
4S - 4N(even kc)
5D - 6D(!H,!S,DK,CQ)
7C - P
South could have gone a bit slower and found out about a decent spades suit, but I don't think he would. He has a good idea of the shape from the diamonds void, but he is not counting on 20 HCP in North and 7NT would still be a shot in the dark for either partner.

We do play Walsh.
We have no trouble finding the spade fit later.
