Bidding goes 1H-P-P-? Too strong for 1NT in a balancing seat, right?
If after Double partner bids 2C what to do next?

Well, usually nowadays a reopening 1 NT shows around 11-14 HCPS. So with a stronger hand you double first and bid NT later.
In your example you bid X and 2 NT to shw a balanced hand with 15-17 HCPS.

Indeed, double and bid NT is the only way I ever learned to bid this hand in the balancing seat. Might be better moved to beginner/novice forum.

2NT shows 17-19 for me and I would bid it. 15-16 hands double and then cry for having no rebid over 2m

We have found the wider range of 12-16 for a 1NT balance to be o.k. Some people even use a "range-ask" opposite these balancing bids, if they need the clarification.

I play 1N over a minor as 11-14. The generally accepted range over a major is 11-16, but some specifically play 11-16 over 1♠ only.

2N shows 19-20. So x and 1N = 15-17 over 1m and 17-18 over 1M.

Doubled on this hand but partner bid 2C and NT had to be at the 2-level. 2C would be made but 2NT was impossible to make with decent defence.

Sorry, "cheapest NT" after (1M) p p x; p anything p. Usually 2N but one case where its 1N.
