It might get out of hand...should it really be full-blown like that?! Maybe 10 people, 10 questions...see how it goes?

An ask me thread? I feel like I'm back in 2+2 land. But those threads are usually good, at first, so go ahead. :P

Haha on 2+2 it would be a well. You should checkout reddit, they have huge AMA (ask me anything) sections.

Sick RRN vs. QN ending....looking like Anand is just about polishing him off, but looks can be deceiving, especially in time pressure.

I wasn't the one running the variations, but apparently Nd5 was winning clearly. I suspect the key difference is that the N was hanging on c4, so after Nf3+ and Qa2+ by Topalov, the N had to be pulled back from the attack to interpose. Maybe Anand saw the position after Ne2 and figured it was a win (and maybe it is) and the doubled rooks would allow him to easily make time control. At the very least, he made time control with a draw in hand; but it looks like Topalov didn't have much resistance left if Anand had played Nd5 instead.

It was an outstanding defence by Topalov anyway. Loosing looks so obvious, but he created new ideas again and again, impressive.

But I guess both players are not satisfied at all with that game. Anand because he missed some opportunites and Topalov because the pressure was too high.
Kind Regards

My take also. It was quite impressive to see the resources he found in his position, as was the mental toughness he showed in putting up such a tremendous fight.
